Go to the game data section and delete the unfinished 1.02 download and install 1.01.īingo - just make sure you're not connected to the PSN when you play so it won't make you put 1.02 on. Download it, then when it starts to download 1.02 hit the O button to cancel out. You do want 1.01 - it fixes the crap sound bug.
Apparently 1.01 will download seperately from 1.02. Install the game (uninstall if you've already installed it) and it'll say there's a patch. However, I pulled this info from the Double Fine boards, haven't tried it but see if it works.

I got the Platinum before the 1.02 patch came out (which is what caused the save game bug).
It's a trade off: Adds more crap to do after the story is done, but makes that particular trophy very easy. The game is fun, but not so fun that the endless and useless collectible hunting is entertaining.ĭon't know how much frustration it can save, but I left my hunting mission at the boar so I could summon it with a solo right at the Sea of Black Tears (instead of trying to ride one all the way from the NW continent). Oh, and use a collectible map!! Cuts off a significant amount of time if you're checking things off as you go. Just make sure to get all the Ironheade concept art before hitting that 79% / finishing the story since it's required for 100%. I've restored from a previous USB save and tried the Chapter select on the glitched save: both work but I found the Chapter select lost quite a bit of story (from story finished to first battle with Tear) AND all the collectibles from that point. The game can still load your fans spent even if your save is glitched (don't know if it can update it though) so that can still be done after Metal God / 100%. If the glitch is tied to story completion (ie occurs when the game updates your save for open world play) then completing everything during normal gameplay is best, as you'd only have <6 collectibles left and maybe a few side quests - stuff you could easily finish in an hour.

I had about 10 hours of play left to finish collecting and hunting missions and I ended up leaving my PS3 on throughout the day as I chipped away at it. I had done a significant number of side quests (almost all in the first 3 regions, few in the later 2) and was under 79%. I had half the serpents, most of the solos and motor forges and all of the story complete. The minimum number I've heard is 79% before it hits (though it was believed to be 89% before) and that's about when it hit me. I don't know if they save glitch hits at a certain completion percentage (that number includes story and collection) or anytime after the main story is completed. That I don't know! I would definitely do things that improve your character: solos (attacks, buffs) and a healthy number of serpents (HP/guitar regeneration). Is it preferred to do as many of the other side-mission trophies etc.
